Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie - July 30, 2011

Posted on 30th Jul 2011 @ 12:52 PM

One of tried and true combinations come together again in this delicious, and super simple, Chocolate and Peanut Butter protein smoothie!  After trying this recipe you may never want to try another one!  I used an all natural peanut butter but you could also use an almond, cashew, macadamia or even hazelnut butter.  Whatever you enjoy and have on hand will work great in this recipe!

I used Vital Whey Cocoa for this recipe, but feel free to use our Vital Whey Natural, ImmunoPro or RenewPro as well.  Keep in mind that if you are using IP or RP, the scoop comes in 5g servings instead of 20g like I am using here.  I hope you enjoy!

  1 Serving (about 16 oz)

Ingredients

1 cup milk (I use whole milk)

2 tablespoons all natural peanut butter

1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)

  1 cup ice

1 scoop (20 grams) of Vital Whey Cocoa

Directions

  1.  In a blender add milk, peanut butter, vanilla, and ice.

  2.  Blend on medium until all ingredients are combined and consistency is smooth (approx. 10 seconds).

  3.  Add whey protein powder and blend on pulse until JUST incorporated (approx. 3 seconds).

Which whey protein should I use in my smoothie?

Vital Whey Vanilla all natural vanilla flavor.

Vital Whey Cocoa all natural chocolate flavor.

Vital Whey Natural for those who prefer no sweetener or flavoring.  Can be added to ANY recipe! (Same as our ImmunoPro but in 600g jar)

ImmunoPro for those who prefer no sweetener or flavoring.  Can be added to ANY recipe!

RenewPro for those who want a lightly sweetened product but prefer to add their own flavoring.  Can be added to ANY recipe!

Special Instructions

To minimize potential damage to the fragile protein components when mixing your smoothie please follow these steps:

  • Avoid highly acidic fruits or juices (citrus, pineapple, kefir, etc). To best maintain the native proteins within Well Wisdom’s Proserum, our whey is not subjected to any acid treatment during manufacture, and we recommend avoiding acidic ingredients when consuming our products.
  • Avoid adding whey to any HOT liquids. Again, Proserum is minimally processed and it is best to avoid adding any additional heat with your smoothie.
  • For least amount of agitation, it is best to add all other ingredients in your smoothie and blend them first.  Add whey protein at the end, and blend for a few seconds to ensure a smooth mix.
