The farms which supply the milk for Proserum® are in South Australia.  This is the ideal temperate climate zone with mean average temperatures throughout the year of 73-88 degrees.  This allows the cows to graze year-round on natural grass pastures.

Many dairies here in the US use synthetic growth hormone-treatment as it raises milk production and their profits substantially.  

Australia has prohibited the use of synthetic growth hormones (i.e. rBGH, rBST) as well as genetically modified (GM) materials.  Unfortunately for years the US company Monsanto has produced and legally sells GM seeds to US farmers.  Just this year they received approval to distribute their GM alfalfa seed.  Alfalfa is one of the largest feed crops for cows in this country.  This poses a real challenge to any US dairy to ensure their cows are not subjected to GM materials.  That is one of the reasons why we chose the dairy for Proserum production as it is illegal for the dairy farmers to use any synthetic hormones and the dairy for Proserum has very strict food safety requirements prohibiting the use of GM feed.

After milk collection for Proserum, minimal processing is used to produce the finest biologically-active non-denatured native whey protein available.  The result is a microbial safe product that exceeds all standards.  We do not use cross-flow filtration, microfiltration, hydrolyzation or ion exchange because these methods denature the original protein.  The end result is Proserum®: our grass-fed year-round native whey protein concentrate.  It is always hormone-treatment-free, GMO-free, pesticide-free and chemical-free.
