Why I Prefer Vital Whey - Travis Nix - September 28, 2011

Why I prefer Vital Whey over many other leading whey products on the market:

travisnixpose.jpgThere are many companies that produce whey protein products for athletes and general health. From my observations, few of these companies put the quality and source of their whey as a priority. What does this mean? Some of these companies could be getting their whey from cows that are homogenized, given steroids, and/or fed things like corn as a means to fatten them up and artificially produce more milk. Also, many companies process the protein at high heats and methods that can break down the natural state of the protein, or denature it. Denaturing the protein makes it less effective and less bio-available. Well Wisdom ensures that their whey is minimally processed, thus preserving its greatly beneficial properties.

One reason I prefer Vital Whey over some of the other companies whey protein is because of the simplicity of what I am getting. There are no fillers, preservatives, added sugars, sugar alcohols, etc…This means you don’t have to worry about extra calories filling you up because there are only 80 per serving.

Benefits I have experienced since taking Vital Whey as my only whey protein supplement:

Since Vital Whey is minimally processed, it contains many of its immune enhancing and regenerative properties that are present in fresh raw cow milk. Why is that important? Mothers’ milk, or raw milk in any case is intended to strengthen a nursing child or calf during the critical stages of development by improving immune response. With that being said, Vital Whey strengthens your natural immune system and provides your body with proteins that help to prevent the breakdown and rebuild muscle fibers during and after a workout.

Since I started using Vital Whey I have put on a good deal of strength and muscle mass. Along with that, I have not fallen victim to any pesky illnesses such as colds, flu, strep, or sinus infections that I used to get on an annual basis. This is very good because I can spend more time in training and less time at home nursing an illness and losing some of the momentum I had been gaining.

While this is great for a bodybuilder or athlete, it is also very beneficial for anyone who would like a stronger immune system that keeps them focused on the more important things in life, rather than making doctor visits and missing out.

Issues and concerns with protein supplementing:

Many of my clients are lost when it comes to taking a protein supplement. Most protein drinks on the market range between 150-300 calories per serving which could be confusing and even frightening to someone watching their calories. Sadly, the beneficial and healthy protein shake usually gets the boot first, therefore depriving those individuals of a nutrient they are most likely lacking in the first place.

One issue I’ve noticed is that people will take these drinks as a meal replacement which is again, robbing them of other necessary calories and nutrients they should be getting from a whole food based meal.

Protein is a “supplement” and should be taken as so, alongside a meal or snack consisting of whole foods.

Understanding these things is important when deciding which whey protein is right for you. Unfortunately, many other whey protein supplements act as a meal replacement and add sugars and carbohydrates that are great for a hard training athlete, but unnecessary for the everyday individual just trying to stay healthy. Vital Whey has only 2 grams of sugar and 80 calories, making it perfect for managing weight with the added bonus of improving strength, immune system, endurance, and overall well being.

Bottom line:

1.)    In this carb crazy society, most people could use more protein in their diets. Protein also aids in weight loss and increased metabolism.

2.)    Whey is proven to be a healthier and more effective protein at building and repairing muscles than others.

3.)    At only 80 calories per serving, Vital Whey is perfect for supplementing alongside meals without ruining your appetite.
